You bought Metallica on vinyl? That must be a long time ago. As for me, I first heard Metallica through Master of Puppets.
Ok. I'm one of those people who prefer their older music. From the 'black' album and before. They were my elder brother's fav band up till the 'black' album so he used to play Metallica a lot back in my school days.
I watched the 'Thank You' message from Lars on You Tube and a lot of people mainly former fans condemn him for the whole 'suing the fans' issue.
Well, before illegal downloading, people were already bootlegging stuff anyway. In a way, it helps to popularize a band and people do pay to see these artists in concerts.
I think most of the bulk from CD sales are taken by the record companies and not the artists.
