METALLICA's James Hetfield joined NWOBHM legends SWEET SAVAGE

METALLICA frontman James Hetfield joined reactivated NWOBHM legends SWEET SAVAGE (based in Belfast, Northern Ireland) on stage at their August 20, 2008 concert at Marlay Park in Dublin, Ireland (where they supported METALLICA) for a rendition of the SWEET SAVAGE classic "Killing Time".
METALLICA recorded a cover of "Killing Time" (co-written by guitarist
Vivian Campbell, a former member of SWEET SAVAGE), which was included as the B-side to METALLICA's "The Unforgiven" single.

Berlin and London Death Magnetic Celebrations

To Celebrate the release of "Death Magnetic" Metallica have not one, but two celebrations with the Fan Club and Mission Metallica planned for September 12 in Berlin, Germany, and September 15 in London, England.

Tickets will only be available to registered Met Club and Mission Metallica members through special sales for each group.
The Fan Club sale begins on Monday, September 1 at 9:00 AM local time.
Mission: Metallica Platinum members will be able to purchase tickets starting on Tuesday, September 2, also at 9:00 AM local time.
Finally, those of you registered for the free portion of Mission may purchase tickets starting on Wednesday, September 3 at 9:00 AM should tickets still be available.

You must have an individual code to purchase tickets and you may obtain those codes by visiting your profile page on the respective sites. Codes and more specifics will be available on each site later this week. Please note that passcodes are not transferable and are only good for the person they were issued to. Your personal ticket code may be used to purchase tickets for both shows, however you may not purchase more than two tickets per person per show. Tickets will only be available online and you may only obtain your tickets at the venue day of show by presenting your photo I.D. In London you must also present the credit card used to make the ticket purchase.
Tickets prices are only €10 for Berlin, and £5 for London!

All the ticket proceeds from the Berlin show will be donated to The Deutsche Herzzentrum Berlin (DHZB) medical centers for heart treatment, more specifically for "Ein Herz fur Kinder" (a heart for children), which celebrates its 30th anniversary this year.

Ticket proceeds from the London show will be donated to Youth Music, the UK's largest children's music charity, set up in 1999 to promote and support music making opportunities for children, including some of the UK's most disadvantaged young people. They work alongside the formal and community-based sectors to support music-making and training.

UK Première Play Of New Metallica Single.....

The UK première play Of Metallica's new single 'The Day That Never Comes' will be this Thursday night (21st August) on BBC Radio 1's Zane Lowe show.

Listen to BBC Radio 1 between 7pm and 9pm to catch the track or click here to hear it on-line. The Show will also be available as "Listen Again" for a week if you miss it.

Metallica on Tour

Metallica have announced two special shows, September 12 in Berlin and September 15 in London, to celebrate the release of Death Magnetic. The tickets will only be available to registered members of the Fan Club and Mission Metallica.

(Not sure if thats a "both" or "either")

Tickets prices will be €10 for Berlin, £5 for London! all the proceeds from the sale of tickets will be donated to local charities. There will be a two ticket limit per member, and you will only be able to pick up your tickets at the box office on the day of the show.
